Interior Detailing

Seats and carpet shampooed, the whole cabin scrubbed and protected — for high-end interiors

Overview

Interior car detailing in Austin, done the way a high-end cabin needs it. A modern luxury interior is five or six different materials sitting inches apart — aniline leather, Alcantara, exposed carbon, open-pore wood, piano black plastic and technical fabric — and each one wants different chemistry, different agitation and a different finish. We treat them as separate surfaces, not as one wipe-down.

What's included

  • Seats shampooed and carpet shampooed
  • Seats and carpet vacuumed, plus every crack, nook and cranny
  • Detailed scrub of the entire interior with detail brushes, then a detailed wipe down
  • Door jambs cleaned, all windows and the windshield cleaned
  • Leather cleaned with pH-appropriate chemistry, then protected and conditioned to a matte finish
  • Alcantara and microsuede lifted and re-napped rather than saturated
  • Carbon fibre, open-pore wood and piano black treated with non-abrasive, residue-free products
  • Vents, switchgear, seat rails and stitching detailed by brush
  • Interior glass finished streak-free, UV-safe dressing on exposed plastics

Understanding interior detailing

Why one product for every surface is wrong

All-purpose interior cleaners are formulated to be safe on the most common surface in a mass-market cabin — hard plastic. Used on aniline or semi-aniline leather they strip the finish and dry the hide; on Alcantara they flatten and mat the pile; on open-pore wood they leave a sealed, shiny film the factory never intended. The reason a professional interior looks factory-correct afterwards is not a better single product, it is the refusal to use one.

Leather, properly understood

Most modern automotive leather is pigmented and coated, so cleaning is really cleaning the topcoat. That is done with mild, pH-appropriate chemistry and soft agitation, never solvent-heavy cleaners. Conditioning afterwards is about keeping the coating flexible so it does not crack at the bolsters — not about leaving a glossy sheen. The driver's outer bolster, steering wheel and door armrest wear first and get the most attention.

Alcantara and technical fabric

Alcantara fails from being soaked and from body oils compressing the pile — steering wheels and headliners are the usual casualties. The correct approach is a low-moisture cleaner, a soft brush to lift the nap, and a dry towel to pull the soil out, repeated lightly. Once the pile is matted flat and shiny it cannot be fully recovered, which is why we would rather see it before that stage.

Carbon fibre, open-pore wood and piano black

Exposed carbon and gloss black trim scratch from the towel, not from the cleaner — direction, towel nap and pressure matter more than the bottle. Open-pore wood is a matte, minimally sealed surface: anything oily builds a film on it that changes the look permanently. All of these get dedicated microfibre and no dressing.

Odour, stains and extraction

Odour lives in fabric, carpet backing and the ventilation system, so masking it with fragrance is temporary. We remove the source: hot-water extraction on carpets and cloth seats, targeted enzyme treatment on organic staining, and airing out the cabin properly. Some staining — dye transfer from denim onto light leather, long-set sun bleaching — improves but does not fully clear, and we will tell you that before we start rather than after.

Sun is the interior's real enemy in Texas

Austin heat and UV do more cumulative interior damage than use does. Dashboards fade and eventually crack, leather dries out at the seams, and a cabin left to sit at 140 degrees ages fast. Keeping surfaces clean and correctly conditioned, using UV-safe non-greasy dressings, and shading the car where possible are what actually slow it down. We include interior UV protection as part of the protection packages.

Process

How the work is carried out

  1. 01

    Assess

We identify every material in the cabin and check for existing wear, dye transfer and sun damage.

  2. 02

    Extract

Deep vacuum and, where needed, hot-water extraction on carpets and fabric seating.

  3. 03

    Treat

Each surface cleaned with chemistry chosen for it, then conditioned or left bare as appropriate.

  4. 04

    Finish

Glass, vents and switchgear detailed, and the cabin left matte and residue-free — not shiny.

Questions

Frequently asked

How much does interior car detailing cost in Austin?
Interior Detailing is priced by vehicle size: $140 for a coupe or sedan, $155 for a small or midsize SUV and $160 for a truck or large SUV. Seats and carpet shampooed, the whole cabin scrubbed and wiped down, leather protected. Heavy soiling or pet-hair work may need a longer appointment — we tell you before we start.
Can you clean Alcantara without damaging it?
Yes, with low-moisture cleaning and mechanical agitation to lift the nap. What we cannot do is fully reverse Alcantara that has already been compressed flat and glazed by body oils over years.
Will you get the smell out?
Usually, because we remove the source rather than masking it — extraction, enzyme treatment on organic staining and airing the cabin. Smoke odour that has been absorbed into the headliner and vents is the hardest case and we will be honest about the likely outcome first.
Do you need power and water at my home?
No. The mobile setup carries its own filtered water, inverter power and lighting, so we can work in your garage or driveway with nothing supplied.
